It was wonderful to be able to hold a mobile photography workshop in Kyemihoko village on a day off during our second Ugandan shoot, with thanks to all those who came. Zuleika invited Diana Kanweri to help lead this session and inspire the local women. Read on for Diana’s response:
A summary of our team working hard to make a documentary in precisely 16 days of filming. We are working so hard with long, long days in the heat but everyone is giving their best.
The planting begins! With 1,200 trees pledged by our amazing Kickstarter supporters, the careful planning and logistics of pegging, planting and watering begins.
Extraordinary bird song greets Jacqui and Zuleika as they complete the drive across Uganda to reach the destination for the project.
Roasted peanuts and passion fruit juice, goats and sculptures. Jacqui and Zuleika spend time in Kampala meeting community groups, filmmakers and artists before setting off to the Rwenzori Mountains.
On July 2nd 2022, Jacqui and Zuleika held a training session in Kampala, Uganda very kindly hosted by Xtrim Casting in their garden and organised by our partners Talking Film Production.
It’s 5am in Nairobi airport and the temperature is rising. The biggest chunk of the journey over, and it’s now just a hop and a skip over Lake Victoria and we land in Entebbe for the start of our adventure.
